Four Ex-Convicts Paraded by Police for Alleged Conspiracy and Armed Robbery in Niger

Following alleged involvement in a conspiracy and armed robbery incident in Minna, the capital of Niger State, the Police have paraded four ex-convicts.

Reportedly, the suspects forcefully entered a residence in the Brighter area of Minna, where they robbed the occupant of a Honda Odyssey vehicle and various other valuable items.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, revealed that the apprehension of these suspects was carried out on 15 April 2024, following a direct complaint from the Brighter area in Minna. The complaint stated that suspected armed individuals had raided a residence in the area, robbing the victim of a Honda Odyssey vehicle and other possessions.

Acting on the complaint, the Police operatives affiliated with the Command’s Crack Squad promptly responded, employing technical intelligence and community-provided information to capture the infamous suspects.

The arrested individuals are Yahaya Mohammed from Kpakungu area, Ayuba Simon (Douglas), Menasse Makama, and Nuhu Azuka (Junior) from the Maitumbi area.

During interrogation, it was divulged that the suspects not only admitted to the recent crime but also disclosed their involvement in previous criminal activities like thuggery and armed robberies, for which they had previously served time in jail.

According to the PRO, the suspects’ revelations led to the recovery of the stolen Honda Odyssey vehicle bearing Reg. No. AG 400 PAK, a POS machine, a Samsung TV, two standing fans, and various other items.

Presently, the suspects are undergoing investigation at the Minna Crack Squad office and will be prosecuted in court upon the completion of the inquiry.
