Six criminal suspects involved in kidnapping and armed robbery across various locations in Imo State have been paraded by the Imo State Police Command.

The Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, through an intelligence-led operation and meticulous investigations, successfully apprehended the suspects. This led to the rescue of a kidnapped victim and the recovery of arms, including one locally made shotgun, a pump-action gun, two live cartridges, and seven additional live rounds of ammunition.

An incident involving the kidnapping of a 26-year-old victim from her residence in Obinze, Owerri West LGA, was reported to the police on August 18.

Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, swiftly deployed the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit to apprehend the culprits and ensure the safe rescue of the victim.

Acting on actionable intelligence, the police operatives targeted a forest hideout in Avu where the suspects were apprehended. Five individuals were arrested: Umaru Usman, Tukur Yau, Musbau Sabo, Abdul Ibrahim, and Jubrin Idris, all from different states.

These suspects were found in possession of weapons and criminal charms, affirming their involvement in a notorious kidnapping syndicate that has been causing terror in the area.
