Police in FCT Arrest Six Suspected Armed Robbers and Recover Weapons

In a recent development, the Utako Divisional Headquarters of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of armed robbery.

A statement was released by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh, declaring that the coordinated raid operation took place on Tuesday.

Acting on credible information, the suspects were captured in an unfinished hospital building previously identified as a high-crime area in the Utako village.

The arrested suspects include Basara Hassan, Daniel Charles, Adamu M Oshiaka, Chancy Asidi, and Saliu Al Hassan, all hailing from neighboring states bordering the FCT.

The PPRO disclosed the recovery of a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and parcels of a substance suspected to be marijuana from the suspects.

Further investigation into the seized ammunition led to the detention of another suspect, Yusuf Iliyasu, who is an ex-convict and the alleged leader of the syndicate.

In an additional comment, the statement emphasized the commitment of the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, to making Abuja a hostile environment for criminals and ensuring the safety of all residents.
