Police detain a man for abducting a four-month-old baby in Ondo, see photo

The Ondo state police command has arrested Nsem Godwin for allegedly kidnapping a four-month-old baby in Okitipupa town, Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

 

Confirming the arrest to newmen, CSP Femi Joseph, the state police command spokesperson, mentioned that the suspect was apprehended by the Highway Saver Policemen of the command while trying to flee with the victim.

 

Joseph stated that the suspect managed to enter the compound where the baby lived with his parents. The baby was playing in their compound with his older brother when the abductor took him. He was spotted by residents of the community who questioned him on how he got the baby. Unable to provide a satisfactory answer, he began pretending to be mentally unstable.

 

Reportedly, the elders in the community prevented the angry residents from lynching him. He was promptly handed over to the police.
