Police clarify that DJ Wysei, not DJ Switch, was arrested – Apologize for the mixup

In a recent statement, the Lagos State Police Command has addressed the confusion surrounding the arrest of DJs in the area, specifying that it was DJ Commissioner Wysei who was apprehended, not DJ Switch as initially reported by some media outlets.

Initial reports had claimed that DJ Switch had been taken into custody and brought before the magistrate court in Eti Osa due to allegations of fraud and assault.

Upon further investigation, the police department now acknowledges that there was a misunderstanding in the information circulated.

During a press briefing on Thursday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, took responsibility for the mixup that led to incorrect reports being disseminated.

Hundeyin expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to media organizations such as Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, to which he had given inaccurate information earlier.

The police department has also issued an apology to DJ Switch for the confusion.

“There was a mistake on our part. The individual arrested is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch.

“We apologize for any confusion caused to some media outlets like Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, to whom I provided misinformation this morning.

We also extend our apologies to DJ Switch.”

Contrary to the reports, NewsNow revealed that Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, refuted claims of her arrest in Lagos.

Responding on X, DJ Switch denounced the false information and accused those behind it of attempting to damage her reputation.

She further warned that she would take legal action against the individuals responsible for spreading the fake news.

”I was inundated with calls and messages this morning, waking me up unexpectedly. I was puzzled because today is not my birthday. Only to discover that I was supposedly arrested,” she penned.
