Two women suspected of child trafficking, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, were apprehended by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command.

According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects had evaded capture by Sokoto police.

The FCT operatives intercepted and detained the two women at the Kagini junction in Abuja, where they were transporting five children into the territory under suspicious circumstances.

The Police Public Relations Officer mentioned that the suspects and the five rescued children were transferred to the Sokoto State police for further investigation.

In a segment of the statement, it was mentioned, “The suspects, who tried to flee from Sokoto police, were stopped and arrested at Kagini junction in Abuja while transporting five children into the Federal Capital Territory.

“The FCT police command, as a show of solidarity, has now handed over the suspects and the children to the Sokoto State police for additional investigation and legal action.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, emphasized the importance of parents closely monitoring their children and reiterated his dedication to protecting the safety of FCT residents.
