Police Arrest Three Herdsmen for High Profile Kidnappings in Enugu


The Enugu State Police command has apprehended three herdsmen allegedly responsible for high profile kidnappings in the state. 

 

The suspects, identified as Adamu Mohammed (AKA suleiman) from Taraba state, 25 years old; Musa Ibrahim from Katsina State, 28 years old; and Dauda Alhaji from Nasarrawa state, 31 years old, were captured at their respective hideouts in Ebonyi State on January 18th and 22nd. 

 

These individuals were accused of orchestrating the abductions of various victims including Rev. Fr. Cyprian Ugwuanyi, the parish priest of St. Paul Catholic Church, PDP women leader in Igbo-Etiti LGA, her son, her driver, Mr. Ejike Ugwuanyi, and one John Okoli along different roads and locations in Enugu State. 

 

The suspects were also found in possession of an AK47 rifle, eleven rounds of live ammunition, and three locally made long guns with eighteen live cartridges. 

 

Addressing the media during the suspects’ parade, the Enugu State Police Commissioner Ahmed Abdurrahman stated, 

 

“The command pursued the suspects vigorously to one of their hideouts and recovered a GSM belonging to one of them. We trailed them and arrested them at their various hideouts in Ebonyi state.

“They will be charged to court immediately investigations are concluded by the command.”
