Police arrest suspect for setting government generator ablaze in Anambra

The police have apprehended a suspect who is believed to have vandalized a government property. Following a tip-off on Friday, April 24 at around 09:30am, the Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Anambra State arrested a 27-year-old suspect, Ekenedilichukwu Ebuka, from Nibo in Anambra State.

The suspect allegedly set fire to a government Mikano generator that was used to power street lights located at Umuokpu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday, April 23 at about 10:30pm.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Haruna, has confirmed the incident and stated that the case is currently under investigation to determine the motive behind the suspect’s actions. Following this investigation, the suspect will be charged to Court for prosecution.
