Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared to express satisfaction after Arsenal’s victory over Manchester United on New Year’s Day.
Arsenal secured a 2-0 win against Manchester United on Wednesday, January 1, with goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, marking Mikel Arteta’s first win since taking over as head coach from Unai Emery.
Before the game, Aubameyang was captured on video by a Manchester United supporter who provocatively taunted him.
The United fan, @98DALLA, told Aubameyang in a video posted on Twitter: ‘You’re getting no goals tomorrow innit,’ ‘No goals, no goals! Absolutely no chance. Phil Jones’ pocket, how about that!’
After the match, an Arsenal fan commented on Aubameyang’s Instagram post, praising his performance and referenced the United fan’s taunting, saying: “Your work rate again today was insane. Where’s that Man United fan who was filming you last night? What a great start to the year.”
Aubameyang responded, jokingly saying: “They are sleeping already,” followed by laughing emojis.
