Peoples Democratic Party To Convene NEC Meeting

In the upcoming week, the Peoples Democratic Party has arranged for its National Caucus meeting on Wednesday, April 17. Following that, its Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee gatherings are scheduled for Thursday, April 18.

NEC is recognized as the highest body within the party, comprising all party state governors, the President, former presidents, current and former principal officers of the National Assembly, state chairpersons, NWC members, former governors, present and past senators, current and former members of the House of Representatives, and ex-NWC members, among others.

Approximately a month ago, the PDP Governors Forum, headed by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, appealed to the NWC to promptly kickstart the process for convening meetings of the party’s various bodies, from the Caucus to the NEC Meeting.

In a statement released last Friday by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP encouraged all members to mark their calendars for the designated date.

Part of the statement indicates, “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our esteemed Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has lined up the 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for Thursday, April 18, 2024.

“Following on the heels of the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting on the same day, Thursday, April 18, 2024.

“The BoT session is slated for 10:00 am at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, after which the NEC gathering kicks off at 2:00 pm at the same venue.

“As a result, the National Caucus meeting of our Party has been fixed for Wednesday, April 17, 2024.”
