Paul Merson: Marcus Rashford’s Future at Manchester United Is Secure Despite Transfer Speculations

Amidst the swirling rumors surrounding Marcus Rashford’s potential departure from Manchester United, former Arsenal player Paul Merson has shared a contrasting view. He suggests that the England forward may have unintentionally solidified his position at Old Trafford this summer.

Despite serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Merson thinks that Rashford’s inconsistent performances and modest goal output this season could dissuade clubs from making significant offers.

Having scored only seven goals in 31 Premier League appearances, questions have been raised about Rashford’s form and his chances of being selected for England’s Euro 2024 squad.

Merson, in an interview with Sportskeeda, appreciates Rashford’s skill but points out his tendency to fluctuate between moments of brilliance and mediocrity. This inconsistency, according to Merson, raises doubts about the possibility of a lucrative transfer for the 26-year-old forward in the upcoming transfer window.

“There have been speculations suggesting that Marcus Rashford might be sold this summer,” Merson commented.

“While I admire him, his inconsistency makes it unlikely for clubs to pay hefty sums for him. Consequently, I don’t see him securing a transfer this summer.”
