A tragic incident occurred in Nnewi, Anambra State, as a man identified as Pastor Prosper Obum Igboke, who was a pastor at a Pentecostal church, took his own life.
According to sources, the pastor jumped from a two-storey building after being jilted by his lover.
A close relative of the deceased, who spoke to 9JA NEWS anonymously, revealed that the man had supported his lover’s education, but she declined his marriage proposal.
“The man, who was 30 years old at the time of his death, had invested significantly in his girlfriend’s education, only to be disappointed when she refused to marry him,” the relative stated.
“He tragically jumped from a two-storey building and lost his life. It is shocking that a man of his age and a pastor would resort to such extreme measures,” the relative expressed in disbelief.
According to the customs of Leru autonomous community in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State, the man’s body would be buried in a forest as a result of the sacrilege he committed.
Yesterday, Friday, the man was eventually laid to rest in a bush, as per the information provided by the source.
