Abia’s Recent Elections See Ikoh and Nwauzor Emerging as New Traditional Leaders
Following an election organized by the Abia State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to select the traditional ruler of Okonaku Ohafia in Ohafia LGA, Ndukwe Ikoh has emerged as the new Eze-elect, with no opposition as the other candidates withdrew.
During the election, Abia State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu, emphasized the importance of restoring peace and stability in Okonaku Ohafia.
The Commissioner highlighted that concerns over petitions and allegations against the nomination process of the previous ruler, Nnaka the 4th of Okonaku Ohafia, prompted Governor Alex Otti to direct the ministry to address the challenges in the community.
