Bola Tinubu Appoints Former Economic Adviser to Yar’Adua as Director-General of Budget Office

Mr. Tanimu Yakubu has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation by President Bola Tinubu, it was announced on Thursday. Following the conclusion of Mr. Ben Akabueze's tenure, the appointment was made. In a statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, it was revealed that Yakubu, an accomplished economist, previously served as the Chief Economic Adviser to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua from 2007 to 2010. Yakubu held the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria from 2003 to 2007. Tinubu also expressed gratitude to the outgoing director-general for his service and wished him success in his future endeavors, as per the statement.
