New Charges Filed by FIRS Against Binance and Gambaryan for Alleged Tax Evasion
An amended four-count charge for alleged tax evasion has been filed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) against Binance Holdings Limited and its executive, Tigran Gambaryan.
During a session before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja, FIRS lawyer, Moses Ideho, revealed this development on Friday.
The agency found it necessary to amend the charge in light of Nadeem Anjarwalla escaping lawful custody, in order to accurately reflect Anjarwalla’s status in the current charge as being at large.
Ideho formally requested the court to substitute the original charge dated March 22, 2024, with an amended charge dated May 17, 2024.
