Value of N3.1bn Goods Seized by Customs: Donkey Bones, Tramadol, and More intercepted
Between April 17 and May 17, 2024, the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone “B” Command in Kaduna, has intercepted a total of smuggled goods worth over N3.1 billion. The seizure includes 54,000 sachets of tramadol, donkey bones, and other items found at different locations within the zone.
The Comptroller of the FOU, Zone ‘B’, Ahmadu Bello-Shuaibu, revealed this information on Tuesday.
Four suspects were arrested in relation to the smuggling of donkey bones and meat, he added.
Additionally, the intercepted goods also consisted of 12 vehicles used for transportation, 174 bags of foreign rice (each weighing 50 kg), 234 jerry cans of PMS (25 litres each), 109 bales of second-hand clothing, 367 cartons of spaghetti, 50 cartons of macaroni, and 47 jerry cans of fore...
