The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission, YOSIEC, has decided to postpone the local government council election originally planned for May 25, 2024. Mamman Mohammed, the executive chairman of the state electoral commission, made the announcement during a press briefing held on Wednesday in Damaturu. Conversely, the Naira fell to N1515 per Dollar in the parallel market from N1520. Since mid-April 2024, the Naira has encountered a 28% decrease against the Dollar. This development follows Nigeria's inflation jump to 33.69% in April 2024.
