Tragic Incident: Factory Employee Electrocuted in Lagos

Confirmation has been received from the Lagos State Police Command regarding the unfortunate electrocution incident that took place at a factory in the Isolo region of the state. On Wednesday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, verified the incident. It was disclosed that the report of the incident was made at the Aswani Police Division on Tuesday around 5:06 pm by the company’s manager. According to the manager's statement to the police, a casual worker was electrocuted while in the process of refilling an industrial chiller with water. The victim was rushed to a private hospital in Isolo immediately, and later transferred to Isolo General Hospital. The Naira Sees First N61 Appreciation Against Dollar Following Weeks of Decline

Following a continuous decline, the Naira experienced a notable appreciation of N61.38 against the Dollar in the official foreign exchange market. Data from FMDQ highlighted an increase of N1459.02 per Dollar on Wednesday, as opposed to N1520.40 on Tuesday. This signifies a 4.2% surge against the Dollar compared to the previous day. Conversely, the Naira fell to N1515 per Dollar in the parallel market from N1520. Bureau De Change operators had attributed the Naira's depreciation to inadequate foreign currency allotment by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Since mid-April 2024, the Naira has encountered a 28% decrease against the Dollar. This development follows Nigeria's inflation jump to 33.69% in April 2024.
