Arrest of Ogun State Government Finance Director’s Killers Still Pending Six Months Later
As of now, those responsible for the tragic death of Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance in the Ogun State governor's office, have still not been apprehended by security forces - six months after the horrifying incident.
Oyekanmi's life was taken on November 29, 2023, during a robbery as he was returning from the bank, having withdrawn a significant amount of funds for official government use.
Reports revealed that a group of masked gunmen intercepted the bullion van as it was crossing the renowned Kuto Bridge in Abeokuta. They proceeded to open fire on Oyekanmi, break into the van using sledgehammers, and abscond with the money.
The victim was promptly rushed to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
