Mentally-deranged man sets Surulere resident ablaze

An individual who is mentally disturbed, identified as Badejo Adewale, was apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for setting a resident of Surulere ablaze by dousing him with petrol. The victim, Bolatito Kadara, was hurried to the Lagos Island General Hospital and is currently recovering after sustaining burns on Hogan Bassey Street in Surulere. Badejo was apprehended following a report to the Surulere Police Station by the victim's sister, Miss Adeola Kadara. In response to the controversy surrounding the use of the presidential jet by President Buhari's daughter, Hanan Buhari, senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights activist, Femi Falana, has weighed in.   Addressing Garba Shehu's claim that President Buhari's family is entitled to the presidential jet, Falana released a statement on Sunday, January 12, refuting the assertion. Car Wash Operator Arrested for Pushing Neighbor to Death During Argument in Lagos

Arrested by the Lagos state police command, Sheriff Balogun, a 35-year-old car wash operator, is being investigated for pushing his neighbor, Peter Elebo, to his death following an argument on Saturday, January 11th.   Both Balogun and Elebo, who lived in the same compound on Number 32 Ola street in the Itire area of Lagos state, engaged in a dispute regarding when to close their compound gate. Balogun allegedly pushed Elebo, who began vomiting and died at the scene. He was later confirmed dead at the hospital.   Following a report by the deceased's daughter, Faith Elebo, the case was reported to the Itire police station. UNN Undergraduate, 21, Allegedly Attempts Suicide Following Parental Scolding (Photo)

Reportedly, a 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Obasi Augustine Chukwuemeka, was intervened on January 7th from committing suicide in his home at Number 4 Alaba street, Ejigbo bus stop, Lagos state.   Spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, stated that an officer of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Security Corps raised the alert about Chukwuemeka's attempt, having tied a rope in preparation for suicide after being scolded by his parents.   Ejigbo Police Station's timely intervention averted the suicide attempt, leading to his rescue and subsequent hospitalization for medical assessment.

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended one Chukwujekwu Eziigbo, a 15-year-old boy, for stealing women's undergarments in the Olufe area of Ojo local government.   In a statement by Bala Elkana, the spokesperson of the state police command, it was revealed that Chukwujekwu confessed to stealing women's undergarments from various houses in Ojo and its environs for the past year. He then handed them over to the following female suspects for a certain amount: Chidima Obietuake (17 years old), Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe (17 years old), Gold Enyinnaya (23 years old), and Akomas Amarachi (26 years old), all from the Ilufe area in Ojo.   Bala stated that all the suspects have been arrested and admitted to the crime.
