Drug Bust in the Philippines: Nigerian Man and Malagasy Partner Apprehended with N489 Million Worth of Illicit Substances
An apprehension in Quezon City, Philippines, resulted in the arrest of a Nigerian man and his Malagasy partner found in possession of illicit drugs valued at around 489 million Naira.
Likewise residing at the same location in Cavite, Nigerian Lawrence Ikegwuruka Obinna, 27, and Michaella Agustine, 23, from Madagascar, were apprehended following a three-month surveillance operation.
The arrest was made on February 11, during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City, by the Joint Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police operatives. A seizure of approximately 10 kilograms of methamphetamine, with an estimated value of PHP68 million (equivalent to about N489 million), was conducted.
