Suspected Boko Haram members ambush Maiduguri after President Buhari’s visit
A few hours after President Buhari’s condolence visit to the governor of Borno state, suspected Boko Haram members have launched an attack on Maiduguri, the state's capital.
Reports indicate that the sect members arrived at the Jiddari Polo general area of Maiduguri Metropolis around 7:05 pm, following the Muslim prayer time, and began shooting indiscriminately, forcing residents to seek safety.
“We are currently facing a serious attack. Boko Haram invaded the town shortly after the president left," a resident reported.
Earlier in the day, President Buhari visited the government and people of the state to express condolences after the brutal killing of over 30 individuals by the sect members on Sunday, February 9th.
