Jigawa government locks down Kazaure after second Coronavirus case

The government of Jigawa State has taken the decision to impose a lockdown in Kazaure local Council following the confirmation of a second Coronavirus case by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC). The lockdown was announced after the previously reported case in Kano was transferred to Jigawa State by the NCDC. Governor Badaru Abubakar revealed the new case during a press briefing in Dutse and stated that the lockdown would commence from midnight on Monday. Essential service providers are exempted from the lockdown, and provisions have been made for the distribution of grains to the affected local government.
