Measles Outbreak: Adamawa Government Confirms 42 Deaths
In a recent statement, the Adamawa State Government reported that 42 individuals have lost their lives as a result of a measles outbreak in the Mubi and Gombi local government areas of the state.
Speaking to reporters after the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Yola, the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwame, disclosed the grim statistics.
The outbreak of measles has impacted eight wards in Mubi and seven wards in Gombi local government areas, resulting in a total of 42 fatalities out of 131 and 177 affected individuals, respectively, across the two LGAs.
Tangwame affirmed that measures have been put in place to contain any further spread of the outbreak.
