Projects must be completed in two years: Tinubu sets deadline for road contractors
President Bola Tinubu has directed that all road projects in the country must be completed within a two-year timeframe, according to the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
Umahi, speaking to road contractors on Wednesday during a visit to the scene of a tanker fire in Eleme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, emphasized the importance of timely project completion. He said, "It’s in line with the policy of Mr. President that contractors will not stay beyond two years on any road project. This is what we are ensuring, except for coastal roads."
A tragic incident occurred when a tanker exploded at the Eleme section of the East-West Road in Rivers State, resulting in the loss of five lives and damage to over 70 vehicles.
