Yobe Police Arrest Teen for Kidnapping and Murder of 11-Year-Old Boy

Authorities in Yobe state have apprehended a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the abduction and killing of an 11-year-old boy in the Gujba local government area. During a briefing with journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Garba, revealed that the suspect admitted to demanding N600,000 from the boy's parents, who were unable to meet the ransom. Garba stated that the suspect administered harmful substances to the victim, causing his death, and subsequently buried him in a shallow grave. Over the past four months, the police department has recorded a total of 245 criminal incidents, comprising cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, homicide, and rape.
