Oyebanji Demands Security Agencies Identify Ekiti APC Chairman’s Kidnappers


 

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Paul Omotoso, along with two others, has been abducted. In response, the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has instructed the state’s security agencies, including the Police, Department of State Services (DSS), and Amotekun Corps, to track down the abductors and safely rescue the victims.

Oyebanji has urged the security agents to employ all available security strategies to secure the release of the abductees, apprehend the culprits, and ensure they face the full consequences of the law.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening when Omotoso and two unidentified individuals were abducted by gunmen along Agbado-Imesi road. Their current location remains unknown.

Reports indicate that Omotoso had attended a wedding ceremony in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, and was en route to Ado Ekiti, the state capital, when the attack took place.

During a visit to Omotoso’s family in Imesi Ekiti, Ayekire local government area, Oyebanji, represented by his deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, issued the directive for immediate action. He urged the security operatives to thoroughly search the expansive forests along Agbado-Imesi-Irun Akoko in Ondo State and other suspected areas to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.

Oyebanji further emphasized that the state government will intensify efforts to combat the menace of kidnapping in Ekiti, and those responsible will face legal consequences.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition, Oyebanji assured that the state forest reserves spanning Agbado-Imesi-Ise will be revitalized and utilized to eliminate criminals who use the area as a hideout.

 

 

 

He stated, “The Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, received the news of the abduction of the State Chairman of APC, Hon Paul Omotoso, with deep sadness.”
