Osun State witnesses the swearing-in of 1,869 corps members by NYSC


In Osun State, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) recently conducted the swearing-in ceremony for 1,869 corps members who are part of the 2024 Batch A Stream II service year.

At the opening ceremony held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede on Tuesday, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, the Director General, advised the corps members to approach their service with dedication, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility.

General Ahmed emphasized that the experience gained during their service year will significantly influence their future contributions to society as potential leaders.

Representing the Director General, the Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, urged the corps members to seize the opportunity to positively impact their communities.

He encouraged them to embrace the cultural richness and traditions of Osun State during their Orientation Course, highlighting the state’s reputation for warmth, hospitality, and cultural heritage.

The corps members were urged to consider the orientation course as an investment in personal and national growth, serving as a driving force for positive change and empowerment.

Prior to the ceremony, Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Youths Affairs, Moshood Olagunju, urged the corps members to immerse themselves in the state’s cultural heritage and traditions.

Adeleke assured them of the state government’s full commitment to ensuring their welfare and security throughout their service year, while emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity, peace, unity, and progress as ambassadors of the nation.
