Ondo PDP Primary: Bayelsa Deputy Governor to Lead Committee


Heading the committee for the Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election scheduled for Thursday is the Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The appointment was announced in a statement released on Wednesday in Akure by Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state.

According to reports, a total of seven governorship aspirants have been authorized by the Sen. Sam Egwu Screening Committee to participate in the primary election.

Delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state, totaling 627 in number, will be responsible for electing the party’s gubernatorial candidate at the International Culture and Events Centre in Akure.

Accreditation of delegates will commence at 10:00 am, as indicated in the statement.

The party has cautioned that individuals who are not delegates or do not have legitimate business at the venue should maintain a reasonable distance.

Notably, the governorship election in the state is scheduled to take place on November 16.
