Heated Argument Between Kogi Governor and Guber Aspirant at Ondo APC Primary

At the BON hotel in Akure, Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Ondo APC governorship aspirant Gbenga Edema engaged in a tense confrontation regarding the distribution of election materials for the party’s primary.

Overseeing the Ondo APC governorship primary as the chairman of a seven-member committee, Ododo clashed with Edema, who insisted that election materials should be sent to multiple wards in the state.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Edema referenced an announcement made by Ovie Omo-Agege, the secretary of the primary election committee, regarding the accreditation and voting process schedule.

Accusing the Ododo-led committee of violating established protocols, Edema stood his ground at the hotel.

In response, the governor clarified that materials had already been dispatched to wards in the North and South senatorial districts of the state.

Ododo defended the committee’s actions, stating, “The materials for the North and South were distributed this morning. We are currently addressing the distribution for the central district.”

Edema contested this, highlighting the unavailability of voting materials for his ward in the state’s south senatorial district, Ilaje local government area.

As an aspirant from Ilaje LGA, Edema reiterated his concerns about the delay in providing materials for Mahin Ward II and raised questions about the distribution process.

Despite the confrontation, the issue of material distribution remained unresolved as stakeholders continued to express their grievances and seek clarification.
