Ole Solskjaer Dismisses Exit Rumors, Confirms Paul Pogba’s Stay at Manchester United Next Season

Reports emerged indicating that Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has confirmed the continuation of star player Paul Pogba at the club for the upcoming season, despite recent public disagreements between Pogba’s agent and the club’s management.

Last month, Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, engaged in a war of words with Solksjaer, stating that Pogba was being held against his will and would explore other options due to irregular playing time caused by an ankle injury.

Although Pogba is reportedly seeking a new contract with two years remaining on his current one, the club’s improved performance since January, with the addition of players like Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo, may influence his decision to stay.

United had planned to sell Pogba in the upcoming summer to avoid losing him for free, considering they had signed him for a then-record £89 million in 2016.

Pogba’s current earnings at United stand at almost £300,000 per week, but a potential new deal could see his earnings rise to around £400,000 per week.

Following his team’s 5-0 win over LASK in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League tie, Solskjaer affirmed Pogba’s continuation at Manchester United by stating, “Paul’s our player… You can expect Paul to be here [next season], yeah.” He also added that Pogba has two years left on his current contract, with the option for another year.
