Oborevwori: No Imposition of Candidates Planned for Delta LG Election


During a recent gathering of Delta Central stakeholders at Osubi, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori assured that the forthcoming local government council elections in Delta State will not witness any imposition of candidates.

He mentioned that the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) will soon release a timetable for the election process, emphasizing the importance of popular candidates who are widely accepted by the people and stakeholders.

Expressing gratitude to party leaders for their continuous support and confidence in his administration, the governor highlighted the need for unity and collective decision-making in candidate selection.

According to Governor Oborevwori, “Our goal is to ensure that all candidates are chosen through a transparent and inclusive process, avoiding any backdoor dealings. It’s essential that candidate selection reflects the wishes of the people at the grassroots level.”

He also reassured the attendees that his government remains committed to upholding the principles of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, without engaging in power struggles or internal conflicts.

Governor Oborevwori concluded by affirming his dedication to the citizens of Delta State, emphasizing that the PDP’s unity and coherence set the state apart from others experiencing political unrest.
