NYSC advice Corps members to avoid traveling at night

Corps members serving their mandatory one-year service in Taraba State are being advised against embarking on night journeys, according to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

During the closing ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream II, the State NYSC coordinator, Mr. Ella Aji Williams, emphasized the importance of avoiding night travel and urged Corps members to stop their journey by 6 pm.

He also recommended that if they find themselves running late, they should seek accommodation at the nearest military or police barracks for the night.

In addition, the coordinator discouraged them from flagging down vehicles by the roadside and instead suggested using designated motor parks for their safety.

Williams reiterated the NYSC management’s travel advice, stating, “You are required to eschew night voyages. Endeavor to break your journey once it is 6 in the evening. Available locations for you to pass the night include police stations, military barracks, and any nearby NYSC secretariat or orientation camp.”
