NSGF emphasizes collaboration for the prosperity of Northern Nigeria

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in infrastructure development, human capital empowerment, trade, and security within the northern region.

He emphasized, “Regional integration is a fundamental aspect of our shared vision for a thriving northern region.

Let’s strengthen our partnerships in areas such as infrastructure development, enhancing human capital, promoting trade, fostering security cooperation, and facilitating cultural exchange.”

During a meeting in Kaduna, he stated that the Forum is committed to collectively addressing the region’s challenges, with a primary focus on security. He mentioned that in the previous meeting, the Forum reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government to address the ongoing security issues in the region.

He added, “We have engaged with the National Security Adviser, service chiefs, northern civil society groups, and other stakeholders to devise sustainable solutions for peace and stability in Northern Nigeria.”

Highlighting the ongoing discussion on state policing, he emphasized the importance of exploring policing models that emphasize cooperation and collaboration among the northern states.
