NSA Ribadu refutes allegations of providing air transport for ousted Kano emir

Denying claims, the National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, stated that he did not provide air transport for the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, to return to the state on Saturday.

Governor Abba Yusuf had reinstated Lamido Sanusi as the 16th Emir of Kano on Friday.

After Sanusi’s reinstallation, the Kano State deputy governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, alleged that Ribadu arranged for a private jet to assist the return of the deposed emir, Aminu Ado-Bayero, back to Kano State.

Smuggled into Kano city on the previous night in a bid to forcefully return him to the palace, the former emir was reportedly transported by two aircraft organized by the NSA, according to Gwarzo at the emir’s palace in Gidan Rumfa.

Ribadu responded to the accusation, refuting it as false.

Mallam Zakari Mijinyawa, the spokesperson of ONSA, insisted that Ribadu did not facilitate the transportation of the ousted emir back to Kano.

During a media briefing in Abuja, Mijinyawa stated, “I came across the comments on social media, they are baseless.

“The NSA did not provide air transport for anyone traveling to Kano.

“It is imperative for political figures to refrain from spreading misinformation while law enforcement authorities in the state work towards upholding peace and order.”
