Alimi showcased his skills by scoring twice in Remo Stars’ recent 2-0 triumph over Niger Tornadoes, bringing his total goals this season to 14.
Mbaoma leveled the playing field by converting a penalty in Enyimba’s 1-0 victory against Katsina United in Aba on Sunday.
Both players are expected to continue their pursuit of this prestigious individual accolade throughout the rest of the season.
With seven games left for Remo Stars and six games remaining for Enyimba, Alimi holds a slight edge in the quest for the top scorer title.
