NPFL Club Owners Gather in Uyo to Support Rivers United in CAF Confederation Cup

Preparations have been finalized by the Nigeria Premier Football League club owners Association to show their support for Rivers United as they face USM Alger in the quarter-final of the CAF Confederation Cup.

In a highly anticipated match, the Pride of Rivers will go head-to-head against the Algerian side in the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo this Sunday.

Rivers United stands as the sole Nigerian representative in CAF competitions this season.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Alhaji Sulaiman Umar, the Vice Chairman representing the North, emphasized the importance of collective effort in pushing Rivers United towards success.

Umar applauded Rivers United for their remarkable journey to the quarter-finals, a significant contribution towards Nigeria maintaining its four slots on the continental stage.

He expressed, “The achievement of Rivers United in reaching the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup is commendable, highlighting the efforts of the team’s management and players. It is for this reason that we, the Club Owners, will be present in large numbers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday to rally behind the team.”
