The confirmation from Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo is that Taiwo Awoniyi will not be in action following another setback with his injury.
After being sidelined for approximately three months due to a groin issue, Awoniyi had just returned to playing in February.
Having missed the 1-1 draw against Luton Town prior to the international break, the forward’s absence is a significant setback for the Tricky Trees.
Santo expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating, “It is a blow for us as he had recently made a comeback from injury. Taiwo’s contribution is substantial, providing us with additional options,” as reported by NottinghamshireLive.
Though unsure about the exact duration of his absence, Santo remains optimistic about Awoniyi’s return later in the season, confirming his absence for the upcoming two games.
With six goals in 17 league appearances for the Reds this season, the 26-year-old has been a key player for the team.
