Warning against record labels copying his style and branding their artists similarly, Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has urged record labels to be more creative and avoid imitating him.
Implying that some labels are attempting to model their artists after him, Rema emphasized the need for originality in the industry.
Expressing his sentiment on social media, he wrote, “Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me.”
The singer further asserted his influence in the industry by stating, “I made Afrobeat EPs a Big statement. Every new Artist since 2019 ate from the same template. Uh oh.”
