New Commandant Appointed for Zamfara Security Outfit by Government

The Acting commandant of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards has been appointed by Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State. Major Maikano Adamu (retd.) has been approved for this role with immediate effect, as announced by the state Commissioner for Information, Munnir Haidara, in a statement released on Thursday.

According to the statement, the decision to appoint Adamu as the acting CPG Commandant was made following the recent suspension of Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (retd.) by the state government.

Prior to this new appointment, Adamu served as the immediate Deputy Commandant of the outfit.

Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (retd.), the former CPG Commandant, was suspended on Wednesday after making comments criticizing the state government for inadequately funding the security outfit.
