Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, was diagnosed with prostate cancer more than a year ago. This Friday, the governor’s office confirmed that he underwent months of radiotherapy treatment, which ended up being “completely successful.”
This report was scheduled to be published two months ago, but the Israeli leader asked for its delay so that “it would not be published in the middle of the war and thus prevent the terrorist regime of Iran from continuing to spread false propaganda against Israel.”
In the document shared this Friday by the Israeli administration, it is explained that on December 29, 2024, Netanyahu underwent treatment for benign hyperplasia (enlargement) of the prostate. In a subsequent routine follow-up MRI, a small focus of less than 1 centimeter was seen, with “suspicious features in the prostate.”
After this, following a more thorough examination, it was revealed that it was a benign prostate cancer “without metastasis.” The report highlights that “this type of lesion allows for continued strict follow-up or brief, focused radiotherapy, highlighting that Netanyahu ended up opting for this second option. The treatment, according to the report itself, was “a resounding success, with the lesion completely disappearing.”
Netanyahu will undergo surgery that will keep him hospitalized for several days
Despite the success of this treatment, Benjamin Netanyahu requested (successfully) the postponement of the hearings of his corruption trial, which were scheduled for this week. The Israeli Prime Minister justified that he has to undergo surgery to remove his prostate. Therefore, this surgery will force him to remain hospitalized for several days, which has served to justify this postponement.
