NDLEA in Kano seizes 230,600 Tramadol tablets and apprehends 106 suspects

During the Eid-el Kabir celebration, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State intercepted 230,600 Tramadol tablets and made 106 arrests.

Mr Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, the Commander, shared this information with reporters in Kano over the weekend.

He stated, “Between June 10 and June 13, as part of their activities directed by the Chairman/CEO of the Agency, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Buba-Marwa, the Command seized 230,600 Tramadol tablets along Zaria-Kano road to combat drug abuse in Nigeria, leading to multiple arrests.”

The agency apprehended 106 male suspects, with 11 identified as significant drug traffickers.

These individuals were taken into custody at various drug spots in Sani Abacha Stadium, Karkasara, Sani Abacha Youth Center, Dorayi, Dan-Agundi graveyard, Brigade Mini Stadium, and the notorious Filin Idi drug den.

Various items were confiscated, including Cannabis sativa, rubber solution, suck and die, exol tablets, codeine syrup, and other illegal substances that were meant for distribution and consumption during Eid-el Kabir celebrations.

The NDLEA Kano Command is dedicated to eliminating the problems associated with drug abuse and illicit trafficking, as per the commander.
