Nathan Tella’s Reaction to Bayer Leverkusen’s Draw Against West Ham in the Europa League

Reflecting on Bayer Leverkusen’s hard-earned 1-1 draw against West Ham United, Nathan Tella expressed his thoughts.

The recently crowned Bundesliga champions secured their spot in the Europa League last four with a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Despite struggling in the first half, Bayer Leverkusen showed resilience in the second half of the match.

Xabi Alonso’s team has now extended their unbeaten run to 44 games across all competitions this season for Die Werkself.

“It was always going to be a challenging game. We weren’t at our best in the first half, which is what helped us win the league and reach this position. However, we knew we needed to stay true to our style,” Tella shared with Ian Abraham post-match.

“The manager’s words at halftime reignited our spirit, leading to a different performance in the second half. We managed to progress, Jeremie scored the crucial goal, and we are grateful to advance,” he added.

Leverkusen is now set to face AS Roma in the Europa League semi-finals.
