Naira Marley given last chance to appear in court over alleged car theft

The court has granted Naira Marley one final opportunity to appear in relation to allegations of car theft. Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias, who issued the ultimatum on December 31, warned that a bench warrant will be issued for the rapper’s arrest if he fails to attend the hearing on January 14, 2020.

Naira Marley is being tried alongside his two brothers, Idris Fashola, 18, and Babatunde Fashola, 24, as well as one Kunle Obere, 22, for their alleged involvement in the car theft. The charges against the defendants include conspiracy, stealing, assault, and obstructing the arrest of Naira Marley. Despite being granted bail, Naira Marley was absent during the initial arraignment on December 16. The court ordered the Investigative Police Officer (IPO) to ensure Naira Marley’s presence in court on December 31.

The trial has attracted significant attention, and Naira Marley’s absence from the court has only added to the public interest in the case. If he fails to comply with the court’s terms, it could have serious implications for the outcome of the trial.
