Message from Adeleke to NYSC Members: Impact Everywhere You Go

Imparting wisdom to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State emphasized the importance of embracing diversity, promoting inclusivity, and striving to make a positive difference in every location they are assigned to.

This call to action was delivered during the closure of the 2024 Batch A Stream II orientation program held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede, Osun State on Tuesday.

Adeleke, urging the corps members to view themselves as representatives of Nigeria, also motivated them to take advantage of the service year to grow, acquire new skills for personal advancement, and contribute to the nation’s development.

In his address, he stated, “I encourage you to uphold the core values of the NYSC scheme which are unity, patriotism, and selfless service.

“You are not only representing your individual states or regions but acting as ambassadors for Nigeria as a whole. Embrace diversity, foster inclusivity, and strive to create a positive impact wherever you are stationed.”

Earlier, during his speech, Osun State NYSC Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, urged corps members to embody the principles of discipline, integrity, and altruism instilled during the orientation program.

He advised, “Ensure that you carry out your responsibilities at your primary assignment locations with the highest level of honesty and commitment to the principles of the organization you are assigned to.

“I urge you to welcome the upcoming opportunities and challenges with an open mind and a mindset of innovation. Let your service be fueled by a zeal for national progress and a dedication to making a tangible impact in the lives of the people you serve.”

Obim also reminded the corps members that the skills acquired during their time in camp will equip them to be self-sufficient, contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic advancement of Nigeria.
