Mbappe takes the lead for PSG’s attack while Real Sociedad is without Oyarzabal

Leading the Paris Saint-Germain attack in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 against Real Sociedad at the Parc des Princes is Kylian Mbappe. Real Sociedad will be missing their captain Mikel Oyarzabal for this fixture.

Mbappe, who has scored 30 goals for his club in all competitions this season, is joined by Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola in the PSG front line.

In a surprising turn of events in the French champions’ lineup, Brazilian January signing Lucas Beraldo will start at left-back instead of Lucas Hernandez.

Spanish international forward Oyarzabal was absent from Real Sociedad’s weekend defeat against Osasuna in La Liga and is not yet ready to make a return.

Hence, Portugal striker Andre Silva, on loan from RB Leipzig, will lead the visitors’ attack as Real Sociedad makes an appearance in a Champions League knockout tie for the first time in 20 years.

Having exited the competition in the last 16 in five of the last seven seasons, PSG is aiming for a different outcome this time under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique.
