Mauricio Pochettino comments on Chelsea star’s dissatisfaction over limited playing time for England

Sharing his thoughts, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino explained that 21-year-old Cole Palmer felt disappointed due to a lack of opportunities during England’s recent friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Despite his outstanding performance in the Premier League this season, where he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists, Palmer missed the first game due to a minor injury and was benched in the second game.

Nevertheless, Pochettino expressed confidence that the ex-Manchester City player will be prepared for the upcoming Premier League match against Burnley on Saturday.

During a press conference on Thursday before Chelsea’s clash with Burnley, Pochettino mentioned, “I had a conversation with him, and he is feeling somewhat disheartened as he couldn’t make an appearance for the national team.”

“In the first match, he faced a minor setback. Although he was hopeful of playing in the second game against Belgium, unfortunately, he did not get his chance,” Pochettino added.

Looking ahead, Pochettino stated, “He is currently in good shape, training diligently. There’s one more training session scheduled for tomorrow [Friday], and if he continues his positive progress, he should be fit for Saturday’s game against Burnley.”
