Man’s Body Discovered Floating in Osun River

Discovery of a lifeless body floating in Omu river, Kelebe, along Osogbo-Iragbiji road in Osun state has been reported.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Command recovered the body on Monday afternoon, April 6 and subsequently transported it to the morgue of Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, LAUTECH in the state capital.

Chief Bisiriyu Aderemi, the head of the Ajoda Idi Okiti community, informed journalists that he initially mistook the object floating on the river for something else until he approached and realized it was a human body.

He stated, “This afternoon (April 6), I was on my way to Iragbiji when I suddenly saw the lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified man, initially I thought it was a log of wood until I moved closer and later discovered it was a dead body.”

“Although my findings showed that he was not mentally stable when he was alive. But nobody can say what could have been the cause of his death.”

According to a police officer from Iludun Police Division, Nurudeen Salami, the dead body was evacuated following a report received at the station.

The cause of the man’s death has not been revealed.
