Governor Makinde’s Unconventional COVID-19 Battle

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, shared his unique approach to combatting the Coronavirus. He enlisted carrots, black seed oil, honey, and vitamin C during his time in isolation.

The governor had revealed his positive test for the virus on March 30 and subsequently went into isolation. On April 5, he announced his recovery through a series of tests on his Twitter handle.

In an interview on Fresh FM Ibadan on April 6, Makinde explained that he relied on vitamin C, carrots, and a mixture of black seed oil and honey to bolster his immunity against the virus.

Dr. Muyideen Olatunji, in charge of primary healthcare for Oyo State, recommended the use of black seed oil to boost immunity. Makinde mixed it with honey and took a teaspoon in the morning and evening. He emphasized the availability of local solutions to enhance immunity, expressing optimism for the recovery of the majority. Despite some weight loss, he remarked on the positive effects and introspection brought about by the isolation period.
