The shocking case of a man accused of pushing his pregnant wife from the fifth floor of their Onitsha apartment has taken a disturbing turn. According to reports, the man had previously been given a quit notice from his former apartment due to the mysterious death of his first wife.
It has been alleged that the man, suspected to be a ritualist, was involved in the tragic deaths of both his first and second wives. Eyewitnesses claim that the man paid the bride price for his second wife in December and then allegedly killed her for ritual purposes before throwing her body from the five-story building they lived in.
Further details emerged from a Facebook user, who stated that the suspect, originally from Nsukka but living in Onitsha, impregnated his salesgirl and was forced to marry her by her family. The user claimed that the man beat the pregnant woman to death and attempted to cover up the crime by falsely reporting her as missing.
The victim’s cousin shared heartfelt sentiments, expressing disbelief and despair over the loss, and calling for justice for her deceased cousin.
The shocking and tragic incident has led to the arrest of the suspect. The Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Rabiu Garba, confirmed the arrest and stated that the case has been transferred for further investigation to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (SCIID).
